Sparring help

I have a sparring partner that is way aggressive, I am having trouble side stepping and slipping his 2 I can get out of the way of the jab but am challenge with how to be in position to counter.

I'll give you two ways to slip the left jab if your right handed. First step directly to your right as the your opponent's jab comes out. Set down your right foot, push off with it and fire the right-cross to your opponents jaw. You can also step to the side of your opponent with your right leg. Once your right foot touches the ground pivot on it by moving your left foot behind the right thus taking a left-handed fighters stance. Then fire a left hand to your opponents jaw as he turns to face you. Coach Thorpe
