Never make a boxing match personal.

Never make a boxing match personal even if your opponent tries too. It a test of your boxing ability. Nothing more or nothing less. When you turn it into a fight you most always lose your self-control. Never use anger and hate as a motivator. Never carry a grudge either if your should lose a match. The only good reason for wanting to fight someone, who has beaten you, is to show the fans and yourself, what hard work and skill will overcome. I know it is hard to take a loss. I've been there and done that before. If you can look at a loss through eyes not clouded by anger and hate, you will probably take something away from the fight that will make you better. Just go back to the gym and work harder on what you and your coach felt cost you the fight. Good luck and train hard because the Golden Gloves will be here before you know it. Train hard everyday to learn and make your skills better. There is always room for improvement. Coach Thorpe
