Bring back old school boxing. Man up U. S. boxing coaches.

With the olympics right around the corner, the chance of us winning any gold medals seem slim. We need to go back to old school boxing where the basics were taught. Your jab set almost everything up. Not now you can go to an amatuer show and not see a jab thrown more then a few times. Plus the idoit who took body punching away from the amatuers screwed up the natural progression of punching. The hook is a great punch but it is much better behind your jab or set it up with your jab. Correct foot work has also went by the wayside. Fighters fight off their heels, cross their feet, fail to shift their weight from one foot to the other. We have given up the sweet science. We were at one time the best boxers in the world but we let the skills that got us there slip away. It is a black eye that our present coaches me included must wear. It is past time to take back what is rightfully ours. The title of the best boxers in the world. Coach Thorpe
